The 2 AM Parade
March 4, 2008
This is gonna be really stupid and maybe even a little confusing if you don’t watch these people on YouTube, but here it goes:
Last night I dreamt (early early early in the morning) that I was heading home from “school” (it was in a shopping center and was really weird) with some friends. We were all going home after an after school tutoring thing I’m assuming. It was really crazy though cuz they went through people’s homes instead of going around it. Like they went through the front door, out the back and out the backyard. I was the only one in the dream who found it just a little strange. Anyway as soon as I got home I went to bed. The following day was Friday and I went to school but the school began to grow-literally, stretching and people were multiplying. I got lost and searched for my group-everyone was assigned groups that day. SWAT like teams of people were around making sure nobody wandered around, they carried weapons. All “loose kids” would be sent to the underground student prison until further notice, according to a voice over the intercom. I found myself having to be very stealth and sneaky so I wouldn’t get sent to the prison. Not long though I saw a SWAT-like person coming my way. Not fully aware if he saw me crawling on the floor in the empty hallyway, I found a classroom and went in. People were dancing somethin crazy. I saw a few friends from my old town, we hadn’t talked since sixth grade. We hugged and started talking till the teacher, an old man with a white beard that went to his ankles and a long pointy nose asked if I knew the dance.
“No,” I said. “What is it?” “The KevJumba [a guy from Youtube] dance, of course,” the man said with a chuckle that made me shiver. “Learn it quickly! The parade is soon!” I didn’t know what was going on but followed what everyone else did. Then we changed into different clothes by stepping in a photobooth like thing for a few seconds and stepping out and just like that we had different clothes. Crazy, right? Anyway, we all lined up and went outside. Floats from other YouTube users were there and fans danced complicated dance steps that made me feel nervous. “We’ll never be that good,” I hissed to one of my friends. “And this is a competition, isn’t it?” She didn’t reply though and focused on the crowd. The old man waved at us, signaling to comeout. KevJumba himself sat on top of a float and we danced in front of the float. People cheered and screamed. “Look,” another friend said. She pointed to the Little Loca [A girl by the name of Stevie Ryan plays Loca on YouTube] float where Loca [or should I say Stevie?] herself sat, waving at everyone. Balloons and floats and the scent of grilled food filled the air. We went many blocks till large buses came and took the dancers back to school. Then a week of no school was declared by the principal of every-school-he- wanted-to-be-the-boss-of. The winners were announced and of course KevJumba’s dance team won.
I woke up just as KevJumba himself came to present each dancer with a brand new high quality camcorder, certifercate (sp?), and $4,000 cash. Its too bad though cuz I would’ve liked to get the cash and camcorder. But it was a really weird dream.
