Huge Splurge!! (Birthday Coming Up!)

So I went shopping today cuz I had some money on me…finally. I was supposed to just go to Rue21 and try to find a graphic tee or two, and you know try and save some for next time when my family comes to visit me in some days. I couldn’t find anything though. So I decided I’d buy a new eyeshadow or two…still trying to keep it low. I saw the NYX brand and I have never used them before but I’ve heard lots of good things about those shadows so I thought I’d get just one cuz they’re $7.99 (for the 3 shadows in one pallete). I couldn’t decide between two, so I thought I’d get both, since I had a coupon where I get some dollars off…which made me feel a bit better about spending that much.

I go up the cash register dude who looks kinda…like an ass, to be blunt and straight forward about it. He says the coupon doesn’t start till Sunday. I say, “Oh.” He says, “Would you still like to purchase them?” I said yes. Then I realized I had done something without thinking…something that I might regret later tonight. I didn’t realize it fully till he said it’d be $17 and change. I broke my own rule and handed over the 20 wearily. My mom asked if the coupon helped after she finished paying for what she bought. I said no and that the coupon doesn’t start till next week. “Actually, Sunday.” the dude says. I narrowed my eyes at him. Sunday are the start of a new week so its the same thing, then it snapped-the ass wasn’t even part of the conversation anyway!

This is the biggest splurge ever on makeup for me. I hope that these shadows are really good and I can do lots more makeup looks now with some new colors added to my shadow collection. I feel kinda bad for spending over half of my money on this stuff but I really like ‘em.  I just wanna try out all the colors of the rainbow and do lots of looks and stuff. I guess this is what happens when you get makeup obssessed. :X

On a better note, my birthday is coming up this month. (On Labor Day I made the birthday page with other celebs who have my birthday. Yesterday’s was Beyonce’s 27th birthday!) I’m so excited! I can’t wait! I love my birthday!! I’ll be 16 this year. 16 and driver license-less and car-less. ….still I can’t wait for my birthday!! I’ll have to think of things I want. Probably money, makeup (L’Oreal and CoverGirl, no NYX or anything), clothes and girly stuff. But for the cake I want cheese cake!! Thats like my favorite cake ever! I have lots of ideas for my birthday but pushed them back till it was closer for my birthday. I’ll update with my ideas later.  I’m gonna go look at these shadows and go eat dinner

Get Ready for School

So it’s like the last week of summer coming up. Then its school. Back to waking up at 7, doing stupid assignments, crabby attitudes (<–not talking about myself) and yeah. lol. So I guess its sorta obvious that I don’t wanna go back to school. Then again I do cuz I don’t wanna be bored at home doing nothing. I didn’t do much this summer. I mean I wouldn’t say it was completely sucky but it wasn’t anything real exciting. Plus I guess school isn’t that bad. I’m trying to look at it with a positive attitude cuz I know I secretly found myself missing school when I was bored at home some days. *puts finger to lips* Shh!

Along with getting ready for school is one of things I like to do most-shopping! I’ve bought a few clothes. Skinny jeans is being one of them. I like them better than flare b/c I feel as if flare leg swallows me since I’m not very tall…at all. I’ve bought a few shirts too-one that I just got an hour or two ago is by Kimora Lee Simmon’s new line for juniors called Fabulousity. I really like Kimora’s stuff so I really wanted a top by her brand when I heard about it. (Kimora has her own makeup brand and I love the blush! It has a sparkle to it unlike other blushes I’ve tried. In the sun your cheeks look sparkly and rosy. Plus it lasts and doesn’t fade.) Now I just need a few more shirts since I usually go shopping throughout the year, I don’t like to buy a LOT at the beginning of the year. Then a pair of shoes maybe (I’ll use last year’s since they look well kept still.) I’m not usually one who tosses out last year’s just stuff just cuz its from “last year”. I’ll use something for as long as I can. I don’t throw $$$ away so why clothes-especially if they’re still in “brand new” condition?

You know those people who are like, “Well I’m not __(add in any label or style of dressing)___ anymore so I’m gonna get new clothes to be _____.”? How do they do that? I guess if you have a lot of $$ or are changing to be a little more cleaned up if you were scruffy or didn’t shower much. Good stuff but not changing cuz everyone else is. I don’t label myself in any way. I buy what I like not what my magazines or other people like. Well if another person likes it and I’m crazy for it too then yes. But I don’t call myself a label or stereotype. I’m just Rachel. Anyway, I’ll blog more later. I know its been almost 2 weeks since I’ve blogged. Oopsie? I gotta clean up my room now and call my sister before I go to bed. Then its a whole new week to finish school shopping cuz ready or not schools coming.

Watching Movies and Making Movies!

So I’m starting to shoot for my movie now! Yay! I started last week but I didn’t format my memory card in my camera (oopsie!) and eventually ended up losing everything, it sucked! So yesterday after watching “A League of Their Own” (good movie btw, it made me cry a few times) I went outside. I did 2 short videos around 1 minute long or so, I still have to put them on the computer so I can see what I wanna cut out from the video. I guess I should add in, if I haven’t already, that this isn’t a movie movie. Like this is just going to be a video with music playing all the way through. A music video. Its my first time doing something like this so I’m playing it safe. I’m trying to do stuff worth watching nothing stupid like just standing around…soo yeah.

On top of this I’m also working on my film that I’m doing with my friend in a few weeks. It’s going to be a movie, not a music video. It’s going to be fun, I’ve already written a lot of mini short scripts that are kinda funny so it’ll be hard to choose which ones to do out of them. I can’t wait to shoot them! Plus we’re going to do some other videos too. So it’ll be pretty cool doing all these videos.

Anyway, I went to the Wal-Mart the other day I bought me some L’Oreal eyeshadows. They’re kinda light and aren’t bright bright but I still like them. In one of my other posts I mentioned Lash Blast eyeshadow and had said anyone who was into makeup and eyeshadow should go buy them. Well they should also buy L’Oreal eyeshadow quads. I have “out of the blue” and next time I’m gonna get the Eva Longoria one, its shades of purples and has her autograph printed on the lid. I also got the Beyonce lipstick, its in bronze. I like it too. It goes on real smooth and is a nice shimmer. 2 good things I found from L’Oreal the other day. I’m talking about Wal-Mart here b/c I was looking at the Kit: An American Girl movie soundtrack. I have the Kit doll, I used to play with her and buy a bunch of clothes for her when I was little like 8 or 9. I’ve known about the movie for about a year now and I’m really excited to see it later. I loved the Kit books when I was little and thats what first got me into writing and old movies especially from her time-the 1930s. So yeah, everyone should go see the Kit movie b/c it looks really good and theres not many movies like this one right now. Its not just a kiddy movie. (And then watch I’ll be like the oldest kid in the theater-j/p! LOL)

Its sorta funny because when I saw the previews for the Kit movie for the first time I got all excited and stuff like a nine year old. Now that I’m 15 I’m obviously a little different from how I was almost 7 years ago…[2001, i think], (I feel old!) but the Kit movie is like the only thing that I still like from my…”childhood” I guess you could say (I feel ancient now!). The movie looks good and hopefully it is-they added in stuff and changed the characters up a bit so hopefully the movie will be pretty good like the books were!!

Making a Movie…in 2 weeks

Last night I added a new page-my summer list page, just a list of stuff I wanna do and I plan to scratch off each thing I finish. Hopefully I can finish them all up…maybe. First thing I chose was to make a movie…I decided this a few days ago. I thought about what I wanted it to be about then I decided I’d do a music video. Not a music music video but a video with music all the way thru. I guess it sounds kinda boring maybe, but I think it’ll turn out to be alright. I filmed a little bit for it on Saturday but since I didn’t format my memory card in the camera I kinda lost all of the footage. Oopsie. And today was supposed to be a catch up day but since the sun didn’t come out and it was cloudy, I decided to not film. The catch to making this movie is to have it done in at least 2 weeks. I wanna make sure I actually finish it and make it nice, so I’m setting a deadline hoping that’ll help. I also have to work on the script and stuff with the other movie my friend and I will be shooting later on this month-well July is tomorrow but whatever.

I still need to choose my music for the video and decide what all I wanna do in the video. It has to be kind of something worth watching and nothing lame…so I wanna make sure I get good stuff. Which is why I’m kinda glad I lost Saturday’s stuff cuz I had no idea what I was doing for the first 20 seconds or so. LOL. I did my makeup today really nice, its a Beyonce inspired look that I watched a few weeks ago and I kept wanting to try it out so today I thought, “I’ll do it!” And I did, I didn’t have the exact colors that the girl in the video had but I found some that were pretty similar. The look is pretty simple but really pretty and my eyes came out pretty decent compared to last time when I tried to do a different tutorial by someone else and my eyes looked awful. This is another thing I wanted to do this summer, was to learn how to do cool eyeshadow stuff and blend colors and stuff cuz I don’t know how to blend that well yet so this stuff on Youtube is helpful. And its fun cuz I like trying out new eyeshadow things. LOL.

Oh and I made this lady at the store so mad at me today cuz it was her on one side and then this other lady on the other side going forward. Well I was in the middle and trying to get through, right? So the lady on the other side moved forward and the other one who I made mad was heading straight ahead like me. Well there was a tiny space left and I started pushing my cart to go through. She looks at me and gives me this look before trying to get in that space to leave the aisle. I took a glance at her and figured that if she wanted to play this game then she’d have to do that w/ someone else, so I went around her and in the space and she pulled back on her basket and said, “Um, excuse me!” Lady, you know I was originally going there anyway and as aggressive and fast as I push my cart you could’ve been out of the aisle too like 2 seconds right after me. I don’t put up with people who just hang out in the way or people who wanna try and compete like its a race. I don’t go to the store to race, I have to get stuff. If you wanna race meet me on a computer game, otherwise move out of the way before you get swollen ankles from the cart. LOL. No but really I watch where I push my cart and stuff but I go fast and I will go around someone if they’re in the way. I’m not rude about it but I don’t like to spend all day at the store playing games and taking my time if I have other stuff to do. (This is sort of a part II to shopping with stupid ppl post or whatever last time’s post was called.)

This is a long one again, sorry but I had a story to tell (and w/ my stories I like to tell them right) and a lot of stuff to share.

Actress? Not Exactly…

So today was the first day of summer, yay. My friend and I talked on the phone again today about the movies we’re gonna make this summer. ‘Cant wait b/c we have a lot of good ideas for some pretty good movies, I think. She’s picking out music and I’m taking an early stab at the script. ‘Guess we’re getting pretty serious into it but I just have a feeling that these ideas will turn into something good, may not be “movie theater” quality but its gonna be a pretty good video, especially after editing it and creating extras to the film like on DVDs (behind the scenes, bloopers maybe, you know the idea). We’re both adding new stuff everyday and as soon as I go over to her town to see her we’re gonna start filming. Acting has always been kinda not so good with me b/c its hard for me to go from being Rachel and then acting as someone else who especially may be in the complete opposite mood. So it’ll be interesting to see how this all turns out. I don’t know why the thought of video making makes me like it but it just seems so much fun and is a little easier than writing. I love to write, I posted that all over this blog and people who know me in real life know how much I write, but in videos you can dress up and act and its easier to visualize it all cuz…well there it is. I like all kinds of art-writing, drawing (maybe even tagging could be considered in this, I don’t tag but I’ve seen a lot of pretty colorful ones), videos, anything that someone uses to say something w/o saying it using their mouth. (That make sense?) I have no ambition of being an actress, the idea makes me happy but right now I’m just playing around and trying out some stuff.

In other news, I went to Wal-Greens to buy some cream liner (don’t know if Jane is a good brand but it was cheap for this jobless girl) when I saw the LashBlast eyeshadows. If you love eyeshadows go buy CoverGirl Lashblast (Drew Barrymore is the model for it-look for her face) eyeshadow palletes, the colors are bright and really pretty. ‘Cheaper than L’Oreal Hip shadow duos (which are pretty too). ‘Haven’t used it yet but I’ve heard good stuff about them. I dunno how to use cream liner yet but I heard good stuff on it too. I don’t wanna look too old though. ‘Got a comment made to me by the lady who was changing my bands at the orthodontist and she couldn’t believe I was gonna be a sophomore. It aint so much the comments I get made about lookin younger but I feel too made up by wearing a lot and just don’t wanna look older than fifteen. Its like taking the clock of your life and twisting the arrow 10 years ahead. ‘Nothin wrong with looking your age, in my opinion.

Alright this is pretty long now, I guess. I’m off to try out this new makeup. I’ll update more about all the filming plans and stuff later. A lot of it is a surprise so I can’t share too much…yet!!
